I’ll bet you like salsa. Me, too. (For those of you who have the genetic variation that makes you sensitive to the soapy aldehydes in cilantro, you may disagree just a wee bit.)

PICK A JAR, ANY JAR.
But not all salsas are created equal—not even close. Real salsa afficionados would sooner suffer an aneurism than pluck a jar off the shelf and inflict it on family, friends, or God forbid, customers. They can tell, I can tell, and I’ll bet you can tell when something just isn’t right. Not even the best chips can save you then.
Tower 7 is a restaurant in Wilmington, NC that makes the best Baja Mex salsa I have ever had. All their food is amazing, but the first thing I ever tasted was their salsa. I was instantly transported—and hooked for life. Your brand can be that way, too.
Great brands are like that perfect salsa. They are distinct and nuanced and memorable and are miles ahead of the competition. Why is this important? Because when your brand is off the shelf or worse, just plain off, your customers don’t get the experience you want them to feel. We can fix it. (And we have.)
Your salsa—your brand—should delight the customer.
There is nothing worse than diving into a bowl of salsa only to find that it tastes like an afterthought. (Or worse: soapy.) The freshness of the tomatoes, the spices, the onion, and yes, the cilantro, are vital. The same goes for brands. What are your ingredients? What’s missing? What should it taste like? Is it memorable right now, or is it stuck somewhere in the middle shelf at Food Lion?
NOT YUMMY.
And once the customer you want tries your brand, do they rave about it? Recommend it to their friends? Cheer when they find it at the cool market where all the best brands seem to live? The point is, your brand is your identity, your promise to current and prospective customers. Most importantly, does your team understand, communicate, and live your brand promise?
What a great brand tastes like.
If your brand is on the middle shelf in the back with maybe a little dust on it, you can settle for that. Or you can take a good, hard look at how it is delivering. Remember, company is coming to your home—what do you want their first impression to be?
We’re here to help and have created a survey to help target weak areas in your brand identity and promise. It’s free to try. You bring your salsa. We’ll bring the chips.
